Vibration Shaker Testing
Our Vibration Shaker Testing courses are run at 2 levels, Basic and Advanced. They are usually run back to back over 2
days. Although both courses stand up as one day events, candidates can also attend both days for a very complete
overview of Vibration Shaker Testing.
We run these in conjunction with Data Physics UK Ltd, one of the Worlds leading suppliers of vibration test and analysis
equipment, their involvement provides us with the opportunity to demonstrate many of the subjects discussed during the
presentations, these demonstrations visually enhance and clarify the practical points of the day.
We firmly believe in presentations based upon experience, to ensure we achieve this we have a variety of industry experts
as the subject presenters. With companies such as the Atomic Weapons Establishment, Qinetiq and Loughborough
University involved you can be sure of genuine knowledge being passed on, in addition to providing a great resource for
any questions you may have about specific areas of vibration testing.
Covering a variety of sibjects including, Signal processing theory, Equipment use, Fixture Design, Test Specifications,
Random, Sine, Classical Shock, Shock Response Spectra (SRS), Mixed Mode, Time replication (Roadload), Practical
advice about best practice, System Rating and Combined environment testing.
As with our Vibration Testing course, we also run Introductory and Advanced Modal Analysis training. Again these are usually run back to back and each day can
be attended in isolation or candidates can attend both days for a thorough overview of Modal Analysis testing.
To enable us to provide a practical element as well as presentations, our partners are once again Data Physics UK Ltd, every presentation is accompanied by a
practical demonstration to help the understanding of the topic discussed. The feedback we have had to date suggests this is one of the most valuable features of
our technical training courses as it allows candidates to fully understand what has been discussed.
The presenters for the Modal Analysis courses also come from industry, with support from the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), Qinetiq, Loughborough and
Sheffield Universities, in addition to a variety of expert consultants.
Topics covered include: Signal processing theory, Equipment overview, Best practice advice, Excitation methods, Modal Analysis and Validation, Single
Input-Multiple Output (SIMO), Multiple Input-Multiple Output (MIMO), Coherence, Multiple Coherence, Advanced Curve Fitting, Stabilisation diagrams, Operational
Modal and FE Modal Validation.
A key part of any product development programme and generally accepted as part of the environmental test process, Shock testing is, however, an test that
many do not fully understand. This course aims to clear up many of the uncertainties regarding shock testing i.e. What is a Shock Test? (there are a wide
variety of methods), What equipment do I use?, How do I capture signals? What specifications should I use?. These are just a few of the questions that will be
answered during this 1 day training course.
Once again we use our unique mix of industry experts and practical demonstrations to aid learning and to clarify the presentation material. Run in association
with our technical training partners Data Physics UK Ltd, this is an essential training course for any test engineer, design engineers and engineering managers
involved in Product development or specification.
